Sunsigns and Appearances - Scorpio
61Hawk-like noses, piercing eyes
James Bond and Sherlock Holmes are two famous Scorpios of fiction. They keep pretty much to themselves in the shadows. I suspect Batman is one too.
Scorpios don't dislike reptiles like some signs do. They are like them. No offense meant to Scorpios, as they are dangerous when offended. I mean the way they keep to the shadows. You can't know a Scorpy completely. For them, knowledge is power and they give out knowledge about themselves only to a few people they completely trust. Just try analyzing their character to make them uncomfortable! It is fascinating to them how much you know about them, and dangerous too. But Scorpios love flirting with danger, so I guess it's all right!
Stares and keen glances
Take any group photograph. The person who looks deep and steady into the camera as if studying it, thats the scorpion. The same stare in most of the pictures. They are part of the group but also parts of them are not for sharing with the group. They are like houses where you are free to roam but that one door that leads to a secret lair, you are forbidden to open.
Actors in real life
Even the scorpios who are not actors by profession are actors in real life. They have these masks that they wear according to occasion and audience. I can hear you say, " I know a Scorpio, but he is a jolly good fellow, and he is open and outspoken, not at all like you say." Well, wait for April when he will pull out his whiskers and say, "April Fool!"
Thanks for the analysis. I know that Scorpios are known for their passion and intelligence. But not necessarily in that order. :)
nice facts collected about Scorpios !
I hate to say but Scorpio for me is the worst sign. My ex is the devil in carnation, Prince Charles, Picasso, Richard Burton are all perfect Scorpios according to their way of life.
Wow, My daughter is a scorpian and not the easiest to get along with at times. It's so interesting what you have posted here....good hub!
I am a Scorpio. I found your observations quite interesting. It's tru, Scorpios never forget a wrong, eventually they will get back at you (at least they are know for it), that why they have the stinger. However, they are usually intelligent and passionate. Great hub, great observations.
Good take on the sign, Kenny W. Having two of my three elder siblings Scorpios, I had a lot of experience with their traits. They were both brilliant, but somewhat devious. They had their own agendas and nothing could stop them. They trusted each other in a kind of comrades-under-the-skin way. One was a brother and one a sister, so there was that difference, plus my brother was the only brother with two older sisters. When I came along much later, I was a disappointment to him, not being another brother!
My Scorpios picked up on every nuance as if by osmosis and filed all the facts for future reference, forgetting nothing of any importance to them.
Ir is Scorpio season right now. On my personal website I always feature the current birthdays by zodiac sign, with a description of each. It's an interesting study. I am not a believer but the characteristics are amazingly close to facts, especially when the sun signs are further modified by other signs in a person's chart.
Thanks for an interesting hub!
By the way, Scorpios are a sign which actually has three possible avatars. The Scorpion is the medium one. Below the scorpion is the snake. Above the scorpion is the eagle. All are intense and powerful but represent the different evolutions of the individual Scorpio's spiritual developement, with - of course - the eagle being ruled by the sign's best and highest traits and the snake by the worst and lowest of the sign's traits. That helps account for the differences in the individual Scorpios one may encounter or know from media coverage. All signs have a range of evolutionary development levels, but in Scorpio, because they are so passionate, intelligent and intense, their extremes are more extreme than some. But their secrecy can make it difficult to tell which they are! They all share that trait.
One is wise to give them slack!
Looks like I'll have to wait till you get to my sign! Can you guess what it is? (no peeking!)
Thank you for this. My husband and I are both Scorpio, and this explains why communication can be difficult and why there just are no answers to some questions.
I find Nellieanna's comment about the three different avatars very interesting, because my husband recently got a guitar that he wants me to decorate for him. He asked for an Eagle and a snake, patriotic representations, but as I looked at things, I kept picturing a scorpion in there too. And I thought it was just a western theme taking over, in my mind!
I'm Aguarian with a Sagittarius moon, but a lot of Capricorn lurking about my planets, especially those guiding thought processes, which accounts for ponderous comments! LOL A tad of Pisces - Venus, which may mitigate Capricorn enough to allow the brevity of my poetry. Gemini rising which tends me toward expression and wide variety of interests, and probably accounts for my almost equally balanced right and left brain. I've wondered at times if I were meant to be twins. But I'm very much Aquarian. Good analysis skill, Kenny. You could possibly have peeked at some of my profiles here and there to find out that my birthday is Feb. 2.
Thank you for the complimentary and skillful analysis, Kenny. And Ivorwen - that is a fascinating incident about your husband's guitar.
Hey Kenny its just fantastic to read about the sunshine here in and the comment from Nellieanna added a lot more interesting fact to the hub and as you told it was hub in itself..I agree to it.
I'm not sure what Sunshine am I because as per Hindu mythology mine is Scorpio and I find some qualities of Scorpions in me mentioned here in but as per English which goes with Date of birth mine comes to LEO.
What do you feel I could be...??
hahaha its great fun to read these sort of hubs. Really liked it.
Thanks,
